Mold has existed on this planet much longer than humans have. It is found throughout the natural environment. You are exposed to mold spores at some level every day of your life. There’s mold everywhere outside your house, and you will find traces of mold inside, too. It enters your home just as dust, dirt and pollen do—through doors and windows, on clothing, shoes, pets, etc. It’s found in every home and is impossible to completely eradicate. It doesn’t become a problem unless the amounts of spores inside are elevated as compared to the outside.
